What is this?

"LEAD SHIELDING VALUE" is the actual thickness of lead shielding required in the in the control barrier as calculated by a radiation physicist for x-ray gamma protection shielding.

Typically this lead shielding thickness can be identified in either fractional, millimeter or pounds per square foot. If the lead thickness requirement is unknown at the time of quote, qualifying it as 1/16", 1.6mm or 4# is a reasonably common industry practice until an actual specific lead thickness requirement is verified by the radiation physicist shielding report.

*PLEASE NOTE: The customer or end user is responsible to always confirm the actual lead thickness equivalency required prior to the final ordering of any radiation shielding product.
