NDT Room Dimensions

Rooms are typically very large and require large access doors dependent upon the equipment and materials being tested. Shielding must be calculated by a certified and licensed radiation or health physicist or other "Radiation Expert" (as defined by NCRP or ICRP) and independently retained by the facility. Additional structural support or seismic considerations may apply depending upon lead weight load requirements, which will need to be reviewed by the structural engineer retained by the facility.
